Programs
Students must be enrolled as a full-time PPS student in the upcoming 2021-2022 school year to register for a STEP camp, and a $10 non-refundable registration fee will be charged per camp. In order to make STEP camps available to as many PPS students as possible, registration is limited to one STEP camp per student.
The Portage Education Foundation (PEF), founded in 1990, invests around $60,000 each year in support of Portage Public School (PPS) students and educators through program sponsorships, grants, and scholarships. The STEP Camp program is designed to provide hands-on, engaging, creative learning opportunities to PPS students. PEF, with help from our underwriting sponsor Eaton Corporation and other community donors, fund these camps each summer for PPS students.
For WMU camps, PEF secures a certain number of seats in each camp session, so registration through Community Enrichment for PPS students is limited. Students not able to secure a spot through Community Enrichment will be placed on a wait list and contacted if space opens up. Families are also welcome to contact WMU directly to secure their own spot in a camp, if the PPS slots are full.
